It was great to see the doors open on a sunny day at the Hub in early September with many exhibits coming through them.

The Show was once again well attended with people milling around with a cup of tea and slice of cake discussing the entries. The judges were very impressed with the quality of the entries and it proved quite difficult for them to choose the winners!

After much thought the winners were announced and our congratulations go to the following:

Vegetable and Produce – Emma Stone

Onion Cup – Julie Wills

Flower Category – Sue Jones

Flower Arrangement – Louise Emlyn Jones

Cookery Category – Mary Hyde

Craft Category – Sue Jones

Children (overall winner) – Daisy Knight

Children 7-12 – Daisy Knight

Children 6 and under – Beatrice Cusick

There were so many wonderful entries – we are very grateful for people’s efforts and time. It all makes for a great community event. One of the highlights of the day is the post-show auction of produce which got very vocal this year!

The current committee is stepping down after two years of running the Show and would like to ask those reading this to think about joining the committee for next year’s event. Volunteering to run the show is not an arduous task, just a few meetings a year and your time on the day.  Please contact Michelle Cusick at corr_michelle@yahoo.co.uk  or telephone 668992 for more information or to volunteer. Alternatively, you can join us at the Rose & Crown, Ivinghoe on Wednesday 22nd November for our Annual General Meeting at 7.30pm.
